Online giving

Online giving for churches

Card and bank gifts, one-time or repeating, from your church's own website — settling straight into your church's own bank account.

Churches on Psalmly accept gifts by card or bank transfer, one-time or repeating, from their own website and from the members’ app.

Money settles directly into the church’s own bank account through its own Stripe account — Psalmly never holds it. Cash and checks recorded by an admin land in the same ledger, so the church’s giving picture and its year-end statements cover everything it received.

Online giving works on every plan, Free included.

How it works

Four steps, and the money never takes a detour through us.

  1. Step 1

    Connect your church's account

Psalmly hands off to Stripe for the identity and bank checks. The account belongs to your church, not to us.

  2. Step 2

    Set up your funds

Every church starts with tithes and offerings. Add missions, the building fund, whatever your church counts separately.

  3. Step 3

    Share the link

Your giving page is part of your church website, open to anyone. It is also in the members' app.

  4. Step 4

Record what came in by hand

Cash and checks go into the same ledger from the admin side, so one set of numbers covers everything.

What you actually get

The parts that decide whether this fits your church, rather than the parts that sound good.

Card and bank transfer
Both rails, on every plan. Bank transfer costs the church a fraction of what a card costs, which is worth telling a congregation that gives in large amounts.
One-time or repeating — weekly, every 2 weeks and monthly
A giver sets it up once and can pause, change the amount, switch the fund or stop it themselves, without emailing the office.
Giving without an account
A visitor can give by card from your website without signing up for anything. They still get a receipt by email.
Funds, and drives on top of them
Funds are your giving categories. A campaign puts a goal and a deadline on one — and because progress comes from the fund itself, the cash and checks you recorded count toward it without anybody tagging them.
Covering the fee, worked out per method
A giver can add the processing cost so the church nets the whole gift. The amount is calculated for the method they actually chose.
Cash and checks in the same ledger
Record what came in on Sunday against the giver's name — or as loose plate cash. One ledger means one set of totals and one year-end statement per person.
A receipt for every gift
Sent when the gift settles, not when it was started — so a bank transfer is receipted once it has actually cleared.
Your church is the merchant
Gifts are charged on your church's own account, so your church is the name on the statement and the money is never ours to hold.

Questions churches ask

How quickly does the money reach our bank?

It goes to your church's own Stripe account and settles on that account's normal payout schedule — Psalmly is never in between. We do not hold your money at any point, so there is nothing for us to release.

Do givers need an account?

Not to give once. Anyone can give by card straight from your website without signing up for anything. An account is what lets someone set up a repeating gift, save a card and pull their own year-end statement.

Can we record cash and checks too?

Yes, and this matters more than it sounds. Hand-recorded gifts go into the same ledger as online ones, so your totals, your campaign progress and your year-end statements cover everything the church received rather than just the online slice.

Can a giver cover the processing fee?

Yes. The give form offers it, and the amount is worked out for the method they chose — covering a bank transfer costs a fraction of covering a card. When they do, the church receives the full amount it was given.

What does online giving cost our church?

Card processing is always charged by Stripe, on every plan. The Psalmly platform fee is 0% on Community and Growth, and 2% on Free. The pricing page has the full comparison.

What is a fund, and what is a campaign?

A fund is a giving category — tithes and offerings, missions, the building. A campaign is a drive on top of one: a goal and a deadline, so people can see progress. Because campaign progress is drawn from the fund, cash and checks count toward it automatically.

Can someone give without their name appearing in our reports?

Yes. A gift can be marked anonymous, which hides the giver from the church's reports. Their own records and their receipt always keep their name, and so does their year-end statement.
