For church admins
New members now wait for your approval
People who join a church with its code now wait until an admin approves them. Everyone who already joined stays in.
Your church's join code is a key you hand to your people: in the bulletin, on a poster at church, or by email. Until now, anyone who had it joined right away. Now they ask to join, and an admin lets them in.
What changes
- Someone who joins with your code or link waits. Until an admin approves them, they can't see your directory, prayer requests, or anything else for members.
- Every lead and admin gets an email and a note in Updates when someone asks to join.
- Everyone already in your church stays in. Nobody was moved or removed.
- Posters and bulletin inserts you've already printed keep working. Someone who scans one now asks to join instead of joining right away.
Approving people
Open Directory. Anyone waiting is at the top, under Waiting for approval. The Directory item in the sidebar shows how many are waiting, and so does Needs attention on your dashboard.
- Approve lets them in right away. They get an email and a note in Updates, and your church shows up for them in Psalmly.
- Decline means they can't ask again with your code. If you change your mind, invite them by email.
Turning it off
On your Join code page, switch off Approve new members. Anyone with your code then joins right away, as before. People who are already waiting stay waiting until an admin decides.
