Reviewing reported content
How the admin Moderation queue works — where members' reports of prayers, posts, and profiles land, what you see (with reporters kept anonymous), and the actions you can take — remove the content, remove the member, escalate to Psalmly, or dismiss.
When a member reports something — a prayer request, a group post or reply, or another member's profile — it comes to you in Moderation (in the admin sidebar). A small count sits on the item when something's waiting. This is how your church keeps its spaces safe, gently and in-house.
The queue
Reports are grouped into items — one card per reported thing, even if several people reported it — and you can filter by Open, Actioned, Dismissed, or All, and search. Click an item to review it.
What you see
Opening a report shows you everything you need to make a fair call, and nothing you shouldn't:
- The content itself, captured as a snapshot at the moment it was reported — so you can still see it even if the author has since deleted the original.
- Who posted it — or "Anonymous member" for an anonymous prayer, whose identity stays hidden even from you, just as it is on the board.
- The reports — the reason each person chose (harassment or bullying, hate speech, sexual content, violence or threats, spam or scam, a self-harm concern, or something else) and any note they added.
Reporters are always anonymous to you — you'll see "Reported by a member," never who. That 's deliberate: people should be able to flag something worrying without fear of it getting back to them.
What you can do
Four actions sit at the bottom of a report:
- Remove content — takes the prayer, post, or reply down. (Not shown for a reported profile — there's nothing to "remove" but the person; use the next action for that.)
- Remove member — removes the person from your church (you'll confirm first). Use it for someone who's here to cause harm.
- Escalate to Psalmly — for anything serious or beyond your church (a credible threat, a safety concern, possible illegal content). Psalmly's team can then review it too.
- Dismiss — mark it handled with no action, when a report doesn't need one.
Lead with care
Like the prayer board, these tools exist to protect people, not to police them. Most reports are small misunderstandings; a few are serious.
