Your church's AI assistant

Ask Psalmly is your church's own AI assistant. It answers questions from the information you already keep in Psalmly, and it can help you get things done — drafting an announcement, setting up an event, inviting people — always stopping for your say-so before anything happens. It's part of the Community and Growth plans.

Open it from Ask Psalmly in the admin sidebar, or the sparkle button that floats on your screen. Ask in plain language: "When's our next elders' meeting?", "Draft a Saturday-workday announcement," "How many are registered for camp?"

What it knows

The assistant answers from your church's own information, not the open internet:

• Your church profile and service times, your published events, and your giving funds.
• Your Knowledge base — the durable things you've taught it (your story, beliefs, FAQs, policies). See Teaching your assistant.
• Psalmly's own help articles, so it can explain how to do things in the app.

It stays current with your real calendar — it knows about events you've moved, renamed, or cancelled. When it uses a source, it cites it, so you can check. Like any AI it can occasionally get something wrong, so confirm anything important against the real screen.

What it can do for you

The assistant can take a first pass at real work, but it only ever proposes — it shows you a card and you confirm before anything is created or sent. Nothing happens automatically, and every action runs as you, under your own permissions. It can offer to:

• Draft an announcement — as a draft to polish, or ready to send.
• Create an event from your description.
• Invite people by email.
• Change a single date of a repeating event (move or cancel just that week).

If you'd rather do any of these by hand, the normal screens are always there — the assistant is a shortcut, never the only way.

Plans, limits, and privacy

• The assistant is part of the Community and Growth plans. On the free plan you'll see an upgrade prompt instead of a chat. See Managing your plan and billing.
• Paid plans include a generous monthly message allowance (Growth includes more than Community). If you're running low, Psalmly shows a gentle heads-up; typing things by hand is always free.
• The assistant is only for signed-in members and admins of your church — it isn't open to the public, and it never answers as your church to strangers.
